Due to the frigid temperatures for the next few days and nights, there will be a warming station manned and available in Lewisburg. This is for homeless and those who may not have heat in their homes. It will be open only during nighttime hours. The location information is as follows:
Lewisburg First United Methodist Church at the McKnight Center
214 4th Ave N.
Hours of operation: 6pm to 7 am
Dates of operation: Monday evening January 6th through Saturday morning, January 11th
Phone: 615-878-0005
Point of contact: Reverend Brad Holliman. There will be a sign in and sign out sheet for those needing shelter from the elements. They are not equipped to handle pets or service animals so please try and make appropriate arrangements. No sleeping bags, cots, or bedrolls. There will be tables and chairs and you may lay your head on the tables and take a nap. Remember this is a warming station and not a shelter. Forecast models show that the wind chill might possibly go as low as 6 degrees at night and is not predicted to go above freezing all week. Actual temperatures are not expected to go above 34 with lows in the single digits.
