United Communications joins Marshall County development board to discuss benefits of $12M broadband investment

United Communications will attend an upcoming meeting of the Marshall County Joint Economic and Community Development Board to discuss the benefits of a $12 million investment to expand fiber broadband connections to 1,000 additional homes and businesses in the central part of the county.

"In 2013, the Lewisburg Animal Shelter Volunteers began a twice-weekly program on WJJM called “Marshall County Pet Patrol”. The purpose was two-fold, first to talk about new intakes with the hope of finding their rightful owners and second, to help find adopters by describing all of our current residents in detail. The results have far exceeded our expectations, and thanks in a big way to our radio exposure our adoption rates have increased significantly. Thank you to the entire staff at WJJM, and our sponsor, Veterinary Services of Chapel Hill…together we are saving the lives of precious fur babies."
