TENNESSEE BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION ARRESTS MARSHALL COUNTY MAN FOR RAPE

Nashville, Tenn. – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation today arrested a Marshall County man for rape after an investigation revealed the subject had sexual intercourse with an underage female.

Stephen Douglas Smith, 51, of Cornersville, Tenn. was arrested and charged with one count of rape and one count of sexual exploitation of a minor this morning after the 17th Judicial District Attorney General requested TBI investigate allegations that Smith had a sexual relationship with an underage female. The investigation revealed that Smith had photographs of himself and the victim engaged in sexual activity. TBI agents executed a search warrant on the subject’s residence last night as part of the investigation.

Smith was arrested and booked into the Marshall County Jail on $100,000 bond.
