Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation today arrested a Lewis County man for First Degree Murder after an investigation into the death of his wife.
On March 26, 2013, James Hobbs, 73, ran over his wife Janice Hobbs, 69, with his vehicle on Hwy 99 West in Lewis County. This occurred during an ongoing domestic dispute, which originated at their residence located at 702 Gaither-Hinson Road in Waynesboro. The Hobbs own Buffalo River Canoe Rental in Lewis County. Janice Hobbs died as a result of her injuries. James Hobbs has been charged with 1st Degree Murder. TBI is investigating at the request of District Attorney General Kim Helper.
