The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call at the Ember’s East Trailer Park located on the Belfast Highway on Saturday (February 22nd). They had received a reference to a Medic Alert Call to EMS about an injured woman at the scene. They were also told her boyfriend was bleeding and that someone had attempted to kill them. Deputies Drew Binkley, Lucas Holton, and Sergeant Doug McBay arrived on the scene and found Paul Campbell had been stabbed and was bleeding from the chest area. EMS was advised to come to the scene after the deputies had secured the area. The victim Paul Campbell was immediately transported by air to Vanderbilt Hospital. Forty-Seven year old, Paul Campbell died at Vanderbilt Hospital on Wednesday from complications believed to be related to the stabbing that occurred on Saturday.
After further investigation, Melinda Campbell, age 47, was arrested and charged with Criminal Homicide for stabbing Paul Campbell during the domestic disturbance. Bond was set at $250,000 and she will appear in court on Tuesday, March 4th.
