8/17/24
Saturday, August 17th, volunteers from East Commerce Baptist Wildlife Group, TWRA agent Mark Ventura, and retired agent Doug Lowery, and owner of B& B Processing, John Barron joined the WJJM staff to auction off donated items and services from vendors and businesses all around Marshall County.
From 8:00 am until noon, we took to the air and had a great morning selling and accepting donations that totaled over $8700.00. This was the best fundraising day we have had for Hunters for the Hungry on WJJM. We appreciate every call, every purchase, and every donation.
If you are unfamiliar with this program, it is a program where harvested deer are donated to be processed and made into ground burger to be donated to hungry families of Marshall County. All the money raised goes to pay the two processors for their services at a discounted rate. If you want to donate a deer this season, take them to B&B Processing or Burgess Processing.
This effort would not be possible without the generosity or our listeners and the hard work of the volunteers and businesses who support this effort. On behalf of WJJM, we thank you all.
